As the lock down is getting dull with every passing day and to keep yourself occupied and active has become the most hectic task of the hour, we bring to you the most trending beverage recipe of the ‘Dalgona Coffee’ also known as the Cloud Coffee in a more poetic form.
This drink has been all over the web since the Korean YouTuber consumed it while publicizing its easy recipe.
So, today, we at Glittercut.com, for our ‘Impromptu’ segment give the Dalgona Coffee a try.
Here’s the way it was made. How it turned out? What we felt after it was ready? and everything else our readers should know, is revealed.
Recipe (serves 1)

Ingredients:
- Chilled Milk (1 cup)
- White Sugar (2 Tbsp)
- Instant Coffee powder (2 Tbsp)
- Water (2 Tbsp)
- Chocolate Sauce (Optional for seasoning)
- A Bowl (big enough to whisk the ingredients together)
Method:
For whisking purpose, ideally a whisk is recommended but, if you do not have a whisk available, then the whisking should be done with a fork which might just prolong the time of the formation of the foam, but you will get there, eventually.
In a bowl, add 2 tablespoon of coffee powder with 2 tablespoon of white sugar along with 2 tablespoon water. Whisk the ingredients thoroughly and vigorously.

Whisking should be continued till the ingredients blend together to form a thick micro-foam.
Initially, you will get confused at the sight of your transforming mixture, but, continuous whisking and determination will definitely give you the foam.
The continuous whisking can last up for more than 20 to 25 minutes to attain the desired thick creamy foam.
The Dalgona Coffee, is nothing, but, all about its foam.
Once the foam is ready. In the cup you will drink your coffee, pour the chilled milk and top it up with the prepared foam. the foam settles on the milk and does not sink to the base.
On the foam then add a few drops of chocolate sauce and make swirls of it using a fork as shown in the picture below.
Enjoy your cold coffee.
If you are looking for serving more people, make sure, you are increasing the equal number of all three ingredients. (sugar, coffee, water). The equal proportion is ideal for the thick foam.
Review:
Honestly, it was like cold coffee, but without ice cream and more on the bitter side.
However, It would be enjoyed more by hardcore coffee lovers, as it is strong and bitter.
Cloud coffee is trending at the moment cause of the lock down, as after the lock down, not many will be able to spare 25 – 35 minutes of their time just to prepare coffee.
So, congratulations, you have a new idea to kill 30 – 35 minutes of your boredom by making the new beverage.

I have been making this coffee for almost 6 years now. And recently I came to know the name of this coffee. Well The recipe you shared is for cold dalgona coffee and I have it in hot milk. Yes the recipe is awesome.

Agreed with arshad22186, this is exactly how a foamy creamy textured coffee is made since years…. Today ppl have named it cloud coffee or dolgona coffee…. True it does take a hell lot of time to whisk to get the desired texture n foam but it’s alright in this lockdown days… You can afford the time…… BTW thanks for the old recipe with a
